About Us

Kıvılcım Academy was founded in 2019 by two software engineers and an educational sciences specialist. Their shared observation was this: most online courses are piles of recorded video; students are left alone and 85% quit before finishing. We set out to change that.

Our teaching model

Every course has three legs:

• Live lessons: In 1-3 live sessions a week you work with the instructor and questions are answered instantly. Recordings remain accessible for 12 months.
• A real project: Throughout the course you develop a graduation project that progresses with real data and scenarios and can be shown to employers.
• Mentor feedback: Mentors who work in industry assess your project in writing and in one-to-one sessions.

Why does it work?

Our courses have an 82% completion rate (the average in the online education sector is around 15%). The main reason is social connection and accountability: live groups of 20-25, weekly goals and mentor feedback do not leave the student alone. According to the 2025 graduate survey, 64% of students moved into a new position or took on more responsibility in their current job within six months of the course.

Our instructors

All 31 of our instructors are working professionals or academics active in their fields. To become an instructor you need at least 5 years of industry experience and must go through content review and a sample lesson. A course whose student rating falls below 4.3 is redesigned.
